  • Potatoes – You can use almost any variety of potatoes for this. I like to use golden Russet potatoes.
  • Olive Oil – Other oil varieties can also be used.
  • Salt – Flaky sea salt works amazing but any variety will do the job. Garlic salt adds depth of flavour.
  • Crushed Black Pepper – This makes a lot of difference in giving some character to the potato faces.

How To Make Monster Baked Potato For Halloween Dinner Party:

Step 1: Wash potatoes and pat dry to remove excess moisture.

Step 2: Using something sharp make some holes on one side of the potatoes to create eyes and mouth. It’s best to dig deep as the after effects will be great.

Step 3: Place the potatoes on a bowl and season well with some Olive oil, Garlic salt and Crushed black pepper.

Step 4: Lay them on a parchment lined baking tray and bake in 180° C pre heated oven for 30 minutes.

Step 5: After done, let them cool down and that is when they start to become spooky with the shrinking of the skin.

3 Ingredients Puff Pastry Mini Chocolate Croissants

Only 3 ingredients required to make this delicious chocolate croissant snack are Puff Pastry Sheet, Chocolate Spread and Egg. That’s all to make these sweet puff pastry dessert snacks.

  • Puff Pastry Sheet – I like to use ready rolled puff pastry sheet for making this quick and budget friendly.
  • Chocolate Spread – You can use any spread of your choice such as dairy free spread or even a nut free one.
  • Egg Yolk – Only the yolk is required for the golden colour and crisp.

How To Make Mini Chocolate Croissants:

Step-by-Step Instructions For Making Puff pastry snack mini chocolate croissants

Step 1:Cut puff pastry sheet

For making mini croissants cut 1 pastry sheet into 6 strips and then cut them in triangles to make 12 portions.

Step 2: Put the filling

Put a teaspoon of chocolate spread on the lengthy side of each triangl.

Step 3: Roll

Now simply roll the croissants from the flat corner towards the pointy edge and repeat them with the rest of the croissants. Transfer them into parchment paper liner baking tray leaving some space as they will spread a little while baking.

Step 3: Apply Egg Wash

Beat an egg yolk and apply on top. This will help the croissants get golden colour and a nice crisp on top.

Step 3: Bake

Bake @ 180 C pre-heated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden and crispy. Enjoy!

Why are my baked tortilla chips chewy?

If your baked Tortilla chips turn out chewy, they either have too much oil or were cooked at too low of a temperature. Make sure you apply just a light brush of oil and make also make sure your oven is completely preheated before baking.

Can you crisp up stale tortilla chips?

Yes absolutely. Pop the chips in a 180°C oven for a few minutes and they’ll be nice and crispy. Alternatively you can pop them in an air fryer in reheat at 180°C.

Step 1: Line a Tray With Parchment paper.

Step 2: In a plate mash fresh raspberries. Add Chia seeds and honey and mix together.

Step 3: Take a spoonful of mixture and place on the parchment paper. Gently level the top.

Step 4: Freeze the disks for an hour.

Step 5: Melt choice of chocolate in the microwave.

Step 6: Dip chocolate disks in melted chocolate and place in the parchment paper to solidify.

It is made from a laminated dough, which involves layering dough with butter and repeatedly folding and rolling it out. The process creates many thin layers of dough separated by layers of butter. When baked, the water in the butter turns to steam, causing the dough to puff up and separate into delicate, crisp layers. They are bakery staples.

  • Puff Pastry – I like to use ready rolled pastry sheets from supermarket, just makes it so much easier.
  • Cream Cheese – Creates an amazing slightly salty and tangy base of flavor for the snacks.
  • Lemon Curd – Adds bold lemony flavours to the appetisers without overpowering.
  • Icing Sugar – Blends easily. If you do not have icing sugar to hand, just grind some regular granulated sugar.
  • Lemon Zest – Gives a nice aroma to the puff pastry snacks.
  • Sprinkles – Makes the puff pastry snacks slightly sweet and such an adorable fun look.

How To Make Lemon Cream Cheese Sprinkles Puff Pastry Snacks:

Pre Heat Oven:

Pre heat oven to 180 C.

Prepare The Base Spread:

Cream together Lemon curd, Cream cheese and Icing sugar. Mix with a spoon or spatula.

Prepare The Pastry Sheet:

Roll out a puff pastry sheet.

Apply Lemon Cream Cheese paste in a single layer.

Sprinkle some lemon zest all over. This will add fresh lemon flavour to the snacks.

Sprinkle some colourful sprinkles all over the sheet. Have fun doing this step.

Cut and Place In Tray:

Cut the sheet into small squares or long-medium strips for baking.

Place the small squares into parchment paper lined baking tray leaving little gap in between.

Bake:

Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until crisp and fillings are not wet anymore.

Serve:

Serve warm as they are best enjoyed warm when these tasty bite sized snacks are crisp.

  • Pastry sheet – I like to use ready rolled pastry sheets from supermarket, just makes it so much easier.
  • Cream Cheese – Creates an amazing slightly salty and tangy base of flavor for the twists.
  • Cheese – Go with your own likings. I have used a blend of 4 cheese straight from pack.
  • Olives – I love using Olives on my savoury pastries but do not limit yourself in using that.
  • Sun dried tomatoes – Gives such a great taste to the puff pastry sticks.
  • Egg Yolk – This helps sesame and nigella seeds stick to the pastry sheet.
  • Sesame Seeds – Gives the snack some crunch and nice roasted aroma.
  • Nigella Seeds – Adds flavor and color contrast to these puff pastry appetisers.

How to make savoury puff pastry twisters

  1. Preheat The Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare The Puff Pastry: Unroll the puff pastry sheet on a clean surface. Gently roll it out and and make a cut in the middle. If using 2 sheets then no need to cut.
  3. Add The Filling:
    • Brush the surface of the puff pastry with cream cheese in one single layer.
    • Sprinkle the grated cheese evenly over the puff pastry.
    • Sprinkle the olives and sundried tomatoes.
  4. Fold: Fold the other half puff pastry sheet on top of the one with toppings, pressing down gently to seal the edges.
  5. Egg Wash & Seeds:
    • Brush with some egg wash (beaten egg yolk).
    • Sprinkle sesame seeds and nigella seeds on top
  6. Cut Strips: Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, cut the folded pastry into strips, about 1/2 inch wide.
  7. Twist the Strips: Take each strip and twist it several times, then place it on the prepared baking sheet. If desired, brush the twists with the remaining beaten egg.
  8. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the twists are golden brown and puffed up.
  9. Cool and Serve: Allow the twists to cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring them to a serving dish. These delicious puff pastry sticks are best enjoyed warm when they are still crispy.

This is an easy recipe for making flavorful, juicy and crunchy fried chicken at home. The recipe calls for some herbs and spices but most of them are pantry friendly.

To make this delicious chicken fry, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Chicken – Thigh and drumsticks are the juiciest parts of a chicken and makes the best fried chicken.
  • Salt – Adjust salt according to your taste.
  • Black Pepper – Adds slight heat to the chickens.
  • Garlic Powder – Adds not only flavor but helps remove bad odor of poultry as well.
  • Paprika – Gives smokey color and flavor to the dish.
  • Egg – Gives a binding for the chicken and flour coating.
  • Water – Is used to thin the wet mixture.
  • Flour – All purpose plain flour will do the job.
  • Ginger Powder – This is a flavor enhancing spice.
  • Onion Powder – Adds depth of flavor to the dish.
  • Mustard Powder – Adds depth of flavor to the dish but you can skip if you do not have it to hand.
  • Oil – Any flavorless oil will do the job.

how to make the best fried chicken at home

Step 1: Marinate the Chicken

The secret to juicy fried chicken starts with a good marinade. In a large bowl, combine chicken pieces with salt, black pepper, paprika and garlic powder and mix well. Cover the bowl and marinade for an hour.

Step 2: Prepare The Wet Mixture

In a separate bowl, beat one egg with 1/2 cup water and 1/4 cup flour and make a thin wet mixture.

Step 3: Prepare The Crispy Coating

In a separate bowl, tale flour and add ginger powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika powder, salt, mustard powder and black pepper powder and give a toss to combine.

Step 4: Heat the Oil

Pour the oil into a deep frying pan and heat up. When you see tiny bubbles are forming, it’s ready. You can also use a thermometer to ensure right temperature which is 350°F (175°C).

Step 5: Coat the Chicken

Dip chicken pieces into wet mixture for few seconds and then coat them in flour mixture. If required, press and coat to ensure a proper coating is done for crispiest chicken fry.

Step 6: Fry the Chicken

Carefully place the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil, a few at a time, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry the chicken for about 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the outside is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Transfer the fried chicken to a wire rack set over kitchen towel or a baking sheet to drain any excess oil.

Step 7: Serve and Enjoy

Let the fried chicken rest for a few minutes to ensure the juices redistribute throughout the meat. Serve hot with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or cornbread.

If you plan to use frozen chicken, use defrost option in your air fryer to thaw the chicken and then marinate and follow the rest of the steps.

How to freeze marinated chicken?

If you plan to make the coated chicken ahead of time you can do that by rubbing the marinade in chicken and then put it in an air tight container or Ziplock bag and store it in the freezer.
