Ingredients for making cheddar biscuits:

Flour: Regular plain flour is needed for the recipe. Gluten free flour does not give the same result.

Cheddar Cheese: Try to use strong Cheddar for a much better aroma and taste. It won’t be wise to use mild cheese.

Baking Powder: Baking powder is the rising agent for the recipe and makes the dough airy.

Garlic Granules: Garlic granules add great flavour to the biscuits. I may also use garlic powder but I find the aroma and taste comes much better if granules are used.

Salt: Although the dough is full of Cheddar cheese which is salty, some salt is still required.

Cayenne: Cayenne will add a kick for the biscuits and makes them a bit vibrant as well.

Sugar: Sugar balances all the other ingredients in the dough making it tasting yum.

Buttermilk: Buttermilk adds acid to the dough helping it become soft and fluffy. If you do not have Buttermilk to hand, just add 1 tsp lemon juice to a cup of milk; stir and leave for 10 minutes.

Butter: Unsalted butter is used for the recipe. If you are using salted butter, please adjust the salt on the actual recipe.

Parsley: Parsley is used in the glaze for extra flavour. Try to chop them well.
