Air fryer chicken wings are a delicious and healthier alternative to traditional Deep fried wings. In this recipe I will share some tips and tricks to make this SERIOUSLY crispy yet juicy chicken wings for everyone in the family.
Air fryer Crispy Chicken Wings
One of the most loved chicken item is Chicken wings. This small part of the bird is to tasty. Crispy chicken wings are a popular appetizer or main dish where the chicken wings are cooked until the skin is golden brown and crunchy while the inside remains juicy and tender. Achieving the perfect crispy texture can be done using various cooking methods, such as baking, frying, or air frying. The most common method is deep frying which makes them very tasty but not a healthy way. These air fryer crispy chicken wings are not only juicy, crispy and tasty but a much healthier option for enjoying chicken wings.

Air Fryer Chicken Wings Recipe Ingredients
To make this crispy Air fryer chicken wings, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- Chicken Wings – Make sure you cut them properly making 2 pieces out of 1 whole wing, discarding the bottom.
- Salt – Adjust salt according to your taste.
- Black Pepper Powder – Black pepper goes so well with chicken but opt out if serving to kids.
- Paprika – Gives smokey color and flavor to the chicken wings.
- Garlic Powder – Helps eliminate bad odor from poultry.
- Onion Powder – Skip if you do not have it to hand.
- Lemon Juice – This will help the chicken become juicy and tender.
- Olive Oil – You can use other varieties of oil as well.
- Corn Flour – Helps them get crispy skin.
- Tapioca Starch – Makes chicken wings crispy from the outside.
- Baking Soda – Helps the wings stay fluffy.
How To Make The Best Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Wings
Follow simple steps to make the best crispy chicken wings in the air fryer.
Prepare The Wings:
Clean chicken wings and cut each wing into two parts, discarding the bottom part as they burn quickly.
Pat dry the wings paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Toss Chicken Wings With Seasonings:
In a small bowl add Salt, Pepper, Paprika, Garlic powder, onion powder and Lemon juice to chicken wings, mix very well and marinade for 1 hour. You can marinade for longer in the refrigerator.
Add olive oil to the wings and mix well.
Make The Crispy Coating:
Make a coating of Corn flour, Tapioca starch and Baking soda in a bowl.
Coat each wing piece in flour coating mix and shake off excess.
Air Fry Chicken Wings:
Put them in the air fryer in single layer and it’s better if they do not touch each other.
Air fry at 200 C for 20-22 minutes or until crispy and golden.
Halfway through brush with some oil and if possible then turn them as well.

In less than half an hour Perfectly cooked crispy chicken wings are done in the air fryer. It should be perfectly cooked from inside and all juicy with crispy skin.
- Pro tip: Apply oil just before coating them with flour mixture.
- Pro tip: It’s important to air fry them soon after coating so that they don’t become soggy.
Storing Leftover Chicken Wings
Chicken wings are everyone’s favorite and are finished in the blink of an eye. However, many times there are leftover that could be not enough for everyone’s dinner the next evening. You can store this cooked chicken wings in an air tight container in the fridge for up t 2-3 days. You can also freeze them for later use.
- Refrigeration: Store leftover chicken wings in the fridge for 2-3 days. Make sure it’s covered properly.
- Freezing: If you want to keep your chicken wings for a longer period, consider freezing it. Put them in a zip lock bag. Label and date the packages before storing them in the freezer for up to a month.

- 1 Kg Chicken Wings
- 3/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 2 tsp Lemon Juice
- 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 6 Tbsp Corn Flour
- 6 Tbsp Tapioca Starch
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
