Tips & Variations For Air Fryer Tuna Melt
- Add Some Greens: For an extra crunch and nutritional boost, add a few spinach leaves or a slice of tomato on top of the tuna spread before adding the cheese.

To make this delicious Air fryer Tuna melt on bagels, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- Bagel – If using frozen bagels, make sure to thaw them properly.
- Mayonnaise – You can use light or egg free ones as well.
- Siracha Hot Sauce – If you do not have Siracha to hand, just use any other hot sauce.
- Mustard – Gives flavor and kick to the toasted bagels.
- Spring Onion – Adds freshness to the Tuna melts.
- Jalapeño – Gives flavor and heat to the tuna melt bagels.
- Cheese – Use your favorite, I like to use a blend of 4.
- Sesame Seeds – For extra crunch and flavor.
- Nigella Seeds – For extra crunch and flavor. You can skip if you do not have that to hand.
Steps to Prepare Air Fryer Tuna melt breakfast:
- Cut Bagels in halves.
- In a bowl put drained Tuna flakes or chunks and add Mayonnaise, Siracha, Mustard, chopped Spring Onions and Jalapeño and give a good mix to make a spread .
- Spread the delicious mixture on Bagel halves and place on the Air fryer basket.
- Top with choice of cheese; I have used a blend of 4 cheese.
- Add bagel seasoning or just Sesame & Nigella seeds for extra crunch.
- Air fry at 180 C for just 5 minutes and tasty healthy breakfast is ready.
- Pro tip: You could make the tuna spread and keep in an air tight container and in the morning just spread and air fry to save time for family.
- Pro tip: For busy mums and students, make them in advance and use reheat option on your Air fryer for a quick brunch or lunch.
Storing Leftover Tuna Melt
Tuna Melts are delicious best eaten immediately, when they’re still warm and the cheese is gooey. However, you might need to store them for later consumption. Storing leftover tuna melts properly ensures that they remain safe to eat and taste as good as possible when reheated. Here are the steps to store and reheat your leftover tuna melts:
- Cool Completely:
- Allow the tuna melts to cool completely at room temperature. This helps prevent condensation, which can make the bread soggy when stored.
- Wrap Individually:
- Wrap each tuna melt individually in aluminum foil or plastic wrap. This will help maintain freshness and prevent them from drying out.
- Use Airtight Containers:
