Cheesy Garlic Bread
[With Video]
I have the ultimate Garlic bread recipe that I’m sure you’ll find is a keeper. It’s a cheesy garlic bread with 3 different varieties of cheese in it. It’s one of those recipes that you make from scratch so you can actually claim all the credit for its amazing taste.
Garlic is an ingredient that you either love or hate. It’s the smell that either attracts you or repels you. I guess most people love garlic when it’s cooked as the smell becomes aroma. Now Garlic bread is one of those side items that must have a good amount of Garlicky aroma to it. This recipe calls for using a lot of cheese and a combination of three popular and great ones. The dough is freshly made from scratch. But don’t worry, the dough is pretty straight forward and is ready very quickly.
The first time I tried this recipe, I was amazed how quickly I could prepare a side dish for my family. That night all I regret was why didn’t I made more of it. It’s so tasty that you can even make it a main and have just a bit of this and that with it. Kids love these cheesy garlic breads and if you cut them the way I have done in the picture, it’s so much easier for them to eat it from their lunchbox.
How to make these Cheesy Garlic Bread
The recipe consists of two parts. Part 1 is making the dough from scratch and the 2nd part is the mixture of minced garlic with melted butter and cheese. In this recipe we use just one cheese as a spread and what could be a better option than cream cheese? Haha. The other two varieties are off course Mozzarella and Parmesan. Both of these cheese are used as toppings. Cream cheese makes a rich spread for the base. Mozzarella gives it the cheesy gooeyness and Parmesan adds just the perfect saltiness with its amazing flavour. What else do you need from cheesy Garlic bread.
What to serve with them?
Garlic bread is considered as a side item and goes great with many mains. It works great with pizza and almost all pizza places have garlic bread in their menu for that reason. As this Garlic bread is loaded with cheese, it’s almost a Cheese pizza. Pasta is a great pair for them. You may also serve these Cheesy garlic bread bite sized with variety of appetisers. I have often found that it goes well with fish if served as a side.
Storing Leftover Garlic Bread
These Garlic Breads can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. If you would like it to keep longer, freezing is a good option. To freeze, place in a freezer safe airtight box. They should stay fresh in the freezer for 2-3 months. If you store them in the freezer, thaw them properly and it’s ideal to warm them up in the grill to get better taste.
