Tips For Making The Perfect French Toast
Thick Slices: Always buy uncut loaf and cut them at home. Cut thick slices to help a lot of custard going inside each slice. Also thick bread will not get dry from the inside giving you fluffy delicious French toast.
Beat Eggs Nicely: Make sure you beat egg properly so that they are mixed very well. It takes just one extra minute but will ensure your French toast is nice and delicious.
Do Not Overcook Your Toasts: It takes only a few minutes to toast the breads in a pan. Do not overcook as it will give you dry French toast rather than fluffy ones. Cooking time will vary depending on the type of bread and the thickness of the slices. It takes around 5 – 6 minutes to cook them on a pan.
Make The Custard In Advance: The French toast custard mixture can be made in advance so it means weekend breakfast is hassle free. Place it in fridge overnight for one less step in the morning.
Dip Breads In Custard Mixture For 1 Minute: Did breads in the custard mixture and leave each slice inside for one minute. This will allow enough custard to go into each slice of bread and it will help them stay moist and fluffy even after cooking in the pan.
My Best Tip: Follow this step and you will be amazed at your own French toast. I add just a little bit of butter towards the end and before taking them out from the pan. Butter gets caramelized and it helps the sides of the bread little extra crispy and crunchy. Trust me on this.

What Bread Should I Use For Making French Toast:
Although you can use any type of bread for making French toast, you will get the best results from Brioche and Challah. These breads have a high butter content in them which gives them tender and rich crumbs but still they are light. In other words, they’re an ideal ones for airy crispy French toast.
I personally love to use brioche loaf as they are slightly sweet, making it just perfect for classic French toast.
